About this park

Sovereign Drive Reserve is a multi-sport recreation reserve in Mount Duneed, and the main oval has become a popular local spot for off-leash play outside scheduled sport, training and match times. It's well used by locals and reviews consistently mention it as a good spot for dogs to socialise and run.

Council's adopted master plan for the reserve includes a dedicated fenced off-leash dog park in a future stage of development, with construction currently aimed for 2027 — we'll update this listing once that's built.

Good to know

The oval is a shared sporting ground — off-leash use is informal and subject to club training and match schedules, so it's worth checking before heading down on weekends or weeknights in season.

Confirmed on-site via council signage: dogs are prohibited while organised sport is on, permitted off-leash subject to effective control when it isn't, and owners must always pick up and dispose of waste.

Not fenced yet, so best suited to dogs with reliable recall until the dedicated dog park stage is built. There's a shaded picnic shelter with seating near the car park if you want to make a stop of it.
