About this park
Stead Park's fenced dog park sits within a much larger sporting reserve in Corio — alongside hockey fields, softball diamonds, a BMX track and playground — but the dog park itself is well set up in its own right, with a large fenced area split between a bare-ground zone with agility equipment for active dogs and a grassed, partially shaded area for quieter play.
It's fully fenced off from the road, with a self-closing double gate at the entry, and is a genuinely handy option if you're arriving late via the Spirit of Tasmania — reviewers mention it's one of the few well-lit options for a late-night leg stretch after a ferry crossing.

Off-leash is allowed at all times within the fenced dog park.
Ground is mixed — bare/compacted in the agility area, grassed in the passive area — with partial shade from mature trees.
On-site parking, a water tap, general bins, a dog waste bag dispenser and seating are all provided. Lighting is better than most fenced parks in the region, useful for early morning or after-dark visits in the cooler months.
Closed for regular council maintenance each Wednesday, 7–9am.
Entrance is off John St. Mobile signal and GPS accuracy on-site are good.
